Ae-Cha's had a shocking cold, nothing life-threatening, but she was miserable and of course this has to happen when Shen has buggered off to South America on cursebreaking business. Then i pick it up and ugh... now I get a letter from work saying I've missed too many days and I MUST come in on Monday or risk losing my job.

Some days don't you just want to crawl into bed and never come out?

Crazy week. Just crazy.

I received something to feed the fire when I was out shopping yesterday. Ridiculous pamphlet! Ae-cha is thriving just fine even though we are not a 'nuclear family'. What sort of idiotic term is that anyway?

Today my little girl turned 6. Shen went the extra mile turning the living room into something resembling a princess' palace and getting a cake that looked like a fairytale castle. Ae-Cha loved it, and she loved having her father there too.

I can't believe it's been six years since she was this tiny little baby laid in my arms.

Aside from a momentary tantrum when told that it was too cold to go swimming at the beach, Ae-Cha has been remarkably good this Christmas. She was a teeny bit upset that Shen wasn't with us, but since she's been thoroughly indulged by Blaise's family, she's quickly gotten over it.

Plans for her birthday are on track and after that I'm looking forward to a quiet New Year. I'm really rather exhausted!

This morning I was informed by my precocious child that the only Christmas present worth receiving was a Perfect Princess Fairy doll. I looked blankly at Ae-Cha and asked her why, and she gave me The Look. The classic 'Oh Merlin, how can my Mummy be so stupid?' look. Luckily for my pride, Shen has done more market research into the 'in' toys for kids these days and was able to rescue me with information. We are now on the hunt for a Perfect Princess Fairy, which are now rarer than the proverbial hen's teeth!

There's also the birthday present to sort out. Ae-Cha wants a pony or a kitten. The latter is the better option, less chance for me to have a heart attack since she can't fall off a kitten.
